     Chameleons are a type of reptile. The scientific name for the chameleon is Chamaeleo Zeylanicus. Chameleons are part of the Anamalia kingdom, Chordata phylum, the class Reptilia, Squamata is the order, it is in the family called Chamaeleonidae, genus is Chamaeleo, an the species it belongs to is Zeylanicus. Physical aspects of chameleons would be that their body covering is very scaly and rough and can vary in color depending on its surroundings. It's size can vary between 60-65 grams and can be around 26 inches. You can find a chameleon mostly in rain forests but they can also be found all over the globe, as far north as Canada, and as far south as the tip of South America.

        Chameleons can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The chameleons to the right as you can see are much smaller than the ones that most people know. These chameleons are small enough to climb just on the tip of your fingers. The tails on these chameleons almost look like little whips. Chameleons are one of the hardest animals to take care of as pets. Most experts say that they wont let someone buy a chameleon unless they believe that they are well educated and can handle one. But if you are willing to put in the time and the effort a chameleon makes a really fun pet.
